AMBER MOON PETERSON

2ND SEASON COMPANY MEMBER

Amber Moon is a professional dancer and interdisciplinary artist based in Missoula, in her second season with Bare Bait. She grew up dancing in her hometown Albuquerque, New Mexico, at Keshet Dance Company, where she became a repertory dancer after graduating from Keshet’s Pre-Professional Program in 2007. As a company member, she performed in Keshet’s regular season shows and taught, and in 2008 performed and toured Keshet’s premier of Ani Ma’ Amin in Minneapolis. After studying dance at the University of New Mexico, focusing on Modern and Ballet, she moved to California. She danced with Datugan Dance Theater in Los Angeles and continued her dance education under the mentorship of Stephanie Powell in Long Beach, CA. Amber Moon permanently relocated to Helena, MT, in 2017 after annual contracts starting in 2012 with Cohesion Dance Project, during which she fell head-over-heels in love with Montana. She acted as Artist in Residence, Lead Rehearsal Director, Theater and Arts Curator, Production Manager, and Teaching Faculty at Cohesion from 2017-2021. Some recent notable works and collaborations include Resonance (2018, co-created with Tanya Call and toured in Helena, Great Falls, and Missoula in 2019), Cave (2017), a site-specific work at the Holter Museum of Art, danced in Julynn Wildman’s dance film Body in Motion (2021), and FLOCK (2022-2023) which she choreographed, filmed, and directed. She is passionate about the arts within the community and eager to share her passion, education, and experience with dancers of all ages and abilities as she grows as an active artist and performer. She is particularly interested in interdisciplinary collaborations. She holds a Multidisciplinary Studies degree from the University of Montana with a focus in Media Arts, Theater Lighting, and Entertainment Management and a Certificate in Digital Design.
